River Description:


Petrohué River is the main river of Vicente Pérez Rosales National Park. Its source is Lake Todos los Santos and it flows into Reloncaví Fjord. The river is 33 kilometers length and boasts beautiful turquoise, cold waters. Its several tributaries include Hueño-Hueño and San Antonio. All these factors make Petrohué River one of the most famous rivers for fly fishing in the south of Chile.

Excursions

Petrohué river source.
Brief Description:
Fly fishing allowed from the first rapid of the Petrohué River to a large eddie of turquoise waters, an extension of 2 kilometers.
Length: Half Day.
Kind of Craft: Central Frame Cataraft, flowing into one class II rapid.
Water features: Glacial source with temperatures between 12°C to 20°C.
Species: Trout: Rainbow and Brown.

Hueño–Hueño / Arenales
Brief Descriptions:
Starts after class III rapids. (Suggestion: Starts where Hueño–Hueño tributary joins Petrohué river, one of the most beautiful sections of the river, only accessible by boat. Finishes in the Arenales area.)
Length: Full Day.

Arenales / Reloncaví Fjord
Brief Description:
In this section the river flows slowly into a delta that reaches a canyon before it finally flows into the sea. On this last part of Petrohué River there is the possibility to take a little break and enjoy Ralún’s natural hot springs.
Length: Full Day.

Lake fishing areas are:
- the lake drainage.
- the arm of Cayutué
- the area of El Escape
Length: Full Day.
Kind of craft: Motor boat.
Water Features: Glacier source, cold and emerald colored. Temperatures between 12°C and 20°C.
Species: Trout: Brown and Rainbow.

Cayutué River
River Description:
Cayutué River is 21.2 kilometers long and noted for its pristine and cold waters and exuberant vegetation. Cayutué Lagoon is its source. One section of the river is navigable and the last section has a delta with short rapids that flow into Lake Todos los Santos.

Cayutué River Excursion.
Brief Description:
Depart from Petrohué in the morning, navigating the southern arm of the lake to Cayutué Bay by motor boat. It is possible to fly fish at the river’s end or by accessing different sections of the river with a walk through the forest.
Length: Full Day.
Kind of Craft: Motor boat to Cayutué Bay and then walk or float in certain river sections.
Water Features: temperatures between 12°C and 16°C.
Species: Trout: Rainbow and Brown.

Sin Nombre river.
River description:
A river of white rocks and submerged logs whose pristine waters are located in the northeast part of Lake Todos los Santos. Its source is the Andes mountain range.

Sin Nombre River Excursion.
Brief Description:
While heading to the river it is possible to fish Pichi Laguna by Lake Todos los Santos. Use waders for fishing.
Length: Full day.
Kind of Craft: Motor boat along Lake Todos los Santos and walk the river shore to fly fish.
Water Features: temperature between 12°C and 18°C.
Species: Trout: Brown, Rainbow and Brook.

Puntiagudo River.
River description:
Volcanic in origin, its source are the glaciers of Puntiagudo Volcano.

Puntiagudo River Excursion.
Brief Description
Heading to this river there is the possibility to fish in other tributaries near Lake Todos los Santos’s north shore.
Length: Full Day.
Kind of craft: shore fishing  or waders. Motor boat transport on Lake Todos los Santos.
Water Features: Pristine and cold waters. Temperatures between 12°C and 18°C.
Species: Trout: Brown and Rainbow.
