Trekking The Pioneers

Description: For more than 15,000 years these valleys have been transited by Pioneers who have sought to cross the Andes Mountains. This 6 km trek runs along a stretch of the former road to Petrohue, used safely by the inhabitants of Monte Verde and later by Father Mascardi, Carlos Wiederhold and Ricardo Roth. To walk along this path is to travel to the past, to relive history and to enjoy nature.

Circuit: This tour starts at the Petrohue Expeditions office with the presentation of the guide and description of the route, for a correct development of the trekking.

Once the safety talk is made, the 6 km walk will take us to the Petrohue River Falls. We start towards the Arenal of the Osorno Volcano where the magnitude of the last eruptions is dimensioned. On clear days you can see the Calbuco, Puntiagudo, Picada and glaciers that cover the summit of the Osorno volcano. The route after crossing the zone of alluvion is internalized in an ancient forest not reached by the last eruptions of the Volcano Osorno. Crossing the forest along the ancient road you reach the Petrohue river where the path continues along the shore on basalt rocks that contrast with the turquoise color of the water. The trekking finally ends at the world-famous Rio Petrohue Falls where you will have time to visit them or take some refreshment. (Not included)
